Something of a record turnout this, both for the league as a whole and for Bromley Vets. The excellent weather no doubt helped, though it was a little slippery underfoot.
Also saw the first 'run out', so to speak, of the new BVAC team tent - a lovely orange affair (limited colours available at time of purchase unfortunately) which erects itself in two seconds! Folding it away again is a little more tricky although it can be done in 30 seconds or so (unless you ask Jane Greenfield and daughter Hannah that is!). Only spoilt by the fact that Phil had to drive around Swanley for 25 minutes trying to find the alternative car park when the main one was full at 10.20 - left little time for anyone else to make use of it as, by the time it was put up, they were all warming up.
We put in some excellent performances and finished, ooh, way off the bottom. There were some 348 finishers according to the 'lottery ticket' hand-out process traditionally followed for these events, but the've been whittled down to 343 in the official list (no Helen, that doesn't mean you came minus 3rd!). We truly had some very high finishers as you'll see but it does go to show you that a couple of youngsters with points in the top 30, which most of those above us had, makes a real difference.
